Shelby has practiced as a speech-language pathologist since 2018. She received her undergraduate degree from Oklahoma State University before earning her Masters of Science in Speech Pathology from The University of Tulsa.
Shelby has worked primarily in the school setting. Prior to moving to Austin, she completed her Clinical Fellow Year at a specialized day school in Los Angeles, California serving children, adolescents, and young adults with special needs related to autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, developmental delays, and abuse and emotional challenges.
She relocated to Austin in 2019 where she worked for an Independent School District where she collaborated closely with OT and PT and provided teacher and parent training on speech and language development. Shelby loves to work on speech and language skills through evidenced-based treatment approaches using play-based activities and hands-on, sensory-rich games and activities that get children excited and motivated.
Shelby provides comprehensive evaluations and treatment of articulation, motor speech disorders, phonological speech disorders, receptive and expressive language, fluency, social pragmatic communication disorders as well as augmentative alternative communication (AAC). She is an NLA trained clinician and LAMP (language acquisition through motor planning) certified.
