    Our Focus

    Common Diagnostic Categories include:

    • Pediatric developmental disorders
    • Neurological diseases and disorders
    • Musculoskeletal diseases and disorders
    • Developmental Coordination Disorders
    • Generalized weakness
    • Abnormal tone (low/high)
    • Infants/children with a history of prematurity, low birth weight, and/or genetic disorders
    • Gait abnormalities to include toe walking, poor balance/frequent falling
    • Gravitational insecurity & fear of movement
    • Torticollis
    • Cerebral Palsy
    • Down’s Syndrome
    • Autism Spectrum Disorder

    Evaluations

    Evaluations will include:

    • a comprehensive intake of birth, medical and developmental history
    • discussion of the parent and child’s concerns and goals
    • observation
    • standardized assessment
    • assessment of functional abilities
    • manual assessment of range of motion, strength and muscle tone


    Upon completion of the evaluation a verbal report will be provided with results and recommendations, followed by a written report.


    *Note: For physical therapy evaluations, please have children and adolescents bring or wear a pair of shorts.

    Treatment

    Treatment is based upon a plan of care established by the treating therapist as dictated by the functional goals for the child.

    Therapeutic activities will be based upon the long and short term goals. Home exercise programs will be provided and good compliance typically leads to the best results.
